It happened: RuneScape: Dragonwilds left early access on 15 September and landed on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Switch 2 in one go, with cross-play across all of them (no cross-saves, mind). Jagex also announced it for Xbox Game Pass alongside the console launch, which explains the number of new players suddenly asking what a Kebbit is.

The launch window has been busier than most: six patches in the first month, a Wrath of the Dragon event, and a combat rework that added stamina, parrying and dodging. If you drifted away during early access, the game you come back to plays noticeably differently.

If you’re starting now, Dragonwilds Codex has charted all 42 quests with requirements, items to bring and start locations, which pairs well with the wiki’s walkthroughs. Its update tracker also carries every patch since early access began with the change lists readable in place, handy for working out what changed while you were gone.

As for what this means for the RSPS scene: a month in, the honest answer is that it’s both. Some crews have vanished into Ashenfall; plenty are treating it as the side game between server resets. We’ll keep watching the populations.
